Are you passionate about ensuring health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards in offshore environments?  Do you thrive in fostering a culture of safety and productivity?  We're seeking experienced Offshore HSE Advisors to join our dynamic team for upcoming short-term projects.

The Offshore HSE Advisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel and assets at our clients' offshore operations. The HSE Advisor will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety standards, providing guidance to personnel, conducting safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization/project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Safety Procedures: Ensure that all offshore operations comply with relevant safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments of offshore activities, identify potential hazards, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
  • Safety Training: Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for offshore personnel, ensuring they are proficient in emergency procedures, safety protocols, and the use of safety equipment.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of offshore facilities, equipment, and work sites to ensure compliance with safety standards. Document findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for offshore operations. Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
  • Safety Promotion: Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among offshore personnel. Encourage reporting of safety concerns and near misses.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes to safety regulations and industry standards. Ensure offshore operations remain compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Safety Reporting: Prepare regular reports on safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives. Present findings to senior management and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Recommendations: Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with client and/or project objectives and guidelines  

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management in the Oil and Gas industry and offshore operations
  • Strong knowledge of offshore safety regulations and industry standards
  • Certification in offshore safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable
  • Successful completion of UKOOA Medical and TBOSIET required
  • Excellent computer, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
